Windham Textile & History Museum is looking for all knitters! Drop by Sept. 29 & 30th from noon to 6:00 pm to participate in their ‘Knit A Memory’ program. Bring needles & yarn to knit scarves, mittens, socks, etc. for soldiers and veterans. (Details at www.millmuseum.org) They are also searching for old ‘Red Cross’ knitting patterns for temporary display. Contact Brooke at the Museum (456-2178) or myself if you have one to share.

Volunteer to Knit (V2K) projects continue with warm clothing for local needy families, chemo caps for all ages, and blankets for children with cancer. Knit at home and drop off your project or join us for one of our V2K knit together sessions.

This year the Knitting Nook will be fund-raising for Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation (JDRF) by ‘selling’ sneakers. Your help is greatly appreciated; many children and adults suffer from this disease that has no cure. Prefer to help by joining our team or making a donation online? Head to www.jdrf.org and click on ‘JDRF Walks’ in East Hartford, CT and look for my name. or ‘Jess-Kess Crusaders’ team.

Thank you to all who switched to e-mail version of our mailing list to help keep costs down! It is greatly appreciated!

Knit and Smile!
Hope to see you soon,

Priscilla Kessler
